All applications for our teacher training courses need to go through the DfE portal, DfE Apply. Please click on the links below for more information and to apply.

Applications for a September 2026 start will go live on 7 October 2025 when DfE Apply opens.
Fee-funded teacher training courses
Below are the links for fee-funded courses. The fees are usually paid via a tuition fee loan. Depending on the subject, you may be eligible for a train to teach bursary.
Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeships
Below are the links to apply for postgraduate teaching apprenticeships (PGTAs). To apply for a PGTA course you must have an employing school who is prepared to support you through the apprenticeship. We do not find an employer for you. Written confirmation from your employer confirming their commitment to support you and their understanding of the apprenticeship expectations of employers is required prior to interview.
Your employer will pay your tuition fee through their apprenticeship levy contributions. Apprentices are employees and are not entitled to support by Student Finance England and are not eligible for the train to teach bursaries.
