Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice (SEND)
Bricknell Primary School is looking for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice (SEND) to support in the classroom and work as part of a team. Under the guidance of teachers, the successful candidate will be involved in working with individuals or small groups of children.
Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage
Hours: 35 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)
Length of apprenticeship: 18 months
What will the apprentice do at work?
-
Support to implement learning activities working with individual or small groups of pupils
-
Support to assist the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning
-
Support in producing learning resources
-
Support to assist in pupil supervision
-
Support in monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs
-
Reporting pupil progress to the teacher
-
Work within the school's policy and procedures
-
Working to the relevant apprenticeship standard and completing work in a timely manner

Off-the-job learning
Each apprenticeship involves 20% off-the-job learning. For the duration of this apprenticeship you will need to attend training sessions at Sirius Academy West, 296 Anlaby Park Road South, Hull, HU4 7JB.
This apprenticeship will lead to the Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND) qualification. You will also be required to completed Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English if you do not already have GCSEs in English and Maths of level 4/grade C or above.

Qualifications required: Ideally applicants will have level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE level 4/grade C or above). If applicants have not reached level 2 in English and/or Maths a willingness to complete the Level 2 Functional Skills is essential.
